So gas is at $3.50 and headed further north. Food prices are following in the same direction because of higher transportation costs, while ethanol production has put pressure on the price of corn and other commodities. What a mess! Do you think this is at all related to the competence of the person who leads the country? Are there any dots to connect here?

Critical Mass rides tomorrow. Wooohoooo!

Cycle Seven is now taking reservations for the spring and summer. If you want the bike to show up for your company picnic or event, look at the Rates page. I'm sorry, I don't do promotional gigs anymore.

Hey, four wheelers--it's the law in Minnesota to share the road and move over three feet for bicyclists. If you're any closer, you're breaking the law. (assholes)

Local stuff in Minnesota: Tiim Pawlenty line-item vetoed money today for the Central Corridor light-rail line in St. Paul. This will certainly make it more difficult for Twin Citians to get around in Minneapolis and St. Paul in the future, especially as more people choose to use their bikes or the bus as a primary means of transportation, and rely on the LRT as an alternative. What a bummer.

A lot of inquiries are coming in regarding insurance and other expenses. Here are some ideas:

- Insurance is easily obtained through insuranceforbicycles.com. The average cost per conference bike or pedicab is around $1500. Please tell Lora I sent you.

- The City of Minneapolis charges $83 per year for a license if you do business there. Otherwise, other municipaliities that I'm familiar with around the Twin Cities metro area don't charge registration fees for doing business.

- The best solution for long-term storage is a small storage space that can accomodate anything the size of a small car That can range from $50 to $150 per month depending on your market. Or you can just keep it in your garage.

- Employees - I don't have any experience in taking on employees yet, but it's my belief that if it comes to that than I will provide the best possible benefits and compensation possible in order to make this an attractive occupation. Of course, that all depends on how healthcare is provided in the future. Will it be provided through the govenment or through one's place of employment? Universal health care as proposed by the Democrats will help small businesses
